As a petite, small-busted woman (dress size XS/0-2; bra size 32A), I often find it necessary to search online for lingerie that fits. Most department stores just don’t carry intimates in my size — not outside the children’s department, that is.
Small-breasted women of all ages often feel that they have no choice but to settle for bras and lingerie made for pre-teens. Who wants to get stuck with a training bra after the age of twelve? Certainly nobody I’ve ever met. Even at fifteen or sixteen, girls want something more than a couple of thin cotton triangles sewn to a flimsy piece of elastic and straps that can’t be adjusted.
The good news, about internet lingerie boutiques, there are many more options available for smaller figures. Here are some of the strategies I use when shopping online for petite bras and lingerie.
• Don’t hesitate to contact an online lingerie shop’s customer service department for more information on a particular product, or for general advice about what might fit best on you. In particular, you may want to ask which bras work well for petite and/or small cup sizes.
• When requesting advice from online customer service at an e-boutique, provide your measurements. This will help to give the customer service representative a better idea of which brands and styles will work best for your petite proportions. Always include your underbust and fullest bust measurements when shopping for bras. For all other lingerie, list your waist and hip measurements as well.
A few of my favorite brands that carry petite sizes are (view sizes/styles available at Magnifique):
Affinitas — some styles start at 30A

Affinitas - sizes starting at 30A and XS
Blush Lingerie — some styles start at 32A

Dominique — some styles start at 32A

Va Bien — some styles start at 32A

After speaking with the owner of Magnifique, Jennifer, I found out that they are working diligently to get more styles as well as new designers to broaden their petite size selection. I would recommend that if you don’t see your particular size, since the smallest size they carry now is a 30A, that you contact them and make a request.
Ideally, you will be able to find corresponding measurements for each size that the brand offers — but if this information is not available, check the brand’s official company website. Most will have a contact form you can use to ask for more details about the brand’s sizing.
When I shop online, I always check the store’s return policy before making a purchase. Some e-boutiques (including Magnifique’s return policy) offer free shipping for exchanges; others do not. If you need to return an item for money back, be sure to follow the site’s instructions for returns to the letter in order to ensure that you are eligible for a full refund.
I believe it is important for women of all sizes to be able to choose high-quality, flattering lingerie — and for petites, this means seeking out bras and other intimate apparel that is age-appropriate. It is absolutely worth looking on the internet, when necessary, to find garments that fit well and do justice to your unique beauty.
